Summary
Defining identifying and classifying life-limiting conditions (LLC) in childhood. Incidence and prevalence of LLC in Wales and UK, retrospectively and prospectively.
Developing techniques for accessing experiences of patients and families and evaluating effectiveness of interventions including quality of life measures.
Identifying needs of families and children with LLC (e.g. symptoms, emotional support, financial needs) and how these differ with condition/category (e.g. children needing long term ventilation)
Developing cost analyses of palliative care, alone or in comparison with other interventions (e.g. intensive care).
